You probably didn't know that the moon had a sister, did you? Well, neither did Lux and Luna, two children who love playing in the moonlight. But one day they found out that the moon has a horrible secret. She was given a special task at the dawn of time – to guard and protect her baby sister. But when the world was created there was a massive quake and the moon's sister fell out of her orbit and crashed down on Earth. The moon searched everywhere, for years and years, but her sister was nowhere to be found. There are however many places on Earth that the moonlight simply can't reach, but that small children can. Thus begins a marvelous journey through an enchanting nature and magical landscapes as Lux and Luna embark on the quest to find the moon's sister.
"Der levones shvesterl" was written and illustrated by the Swedish artist Fia Lien. It is a timeless tale about sisterhood and friendship where every spread has an amazing work of art. Translated to Yiddish by Nikolaj Olniansky, edited by Israeli Yiddish writer Velvl Chernin.
